Constellar Team members have accumulated over 50 combined years of extensive experience in the hedge fund and banking industries. All our employees have invested in the Constellar Gemini Fund and have equity participation in the firm.


Theodore Wong, M.D.
Managing Partner, Chief Investment Officer

Before founding Constellar, Dr. Wong was a Managing Director with Credit Suisse for five years in New York and London where he served several senior roles including: Global Head of Hedge Fund Relationship Management, Global Head of Prime Services Sales, and European Head of Sales-Trading. He was a member of the prestigious Chairman’s Board as well as the European Equity Operational Committee. Prior to Credit Suisse, Dr. Wong was a Managing Director at Tiger Management, where he spent three years heading the Equity Trading Desk. Before joining Tiger, he worked as Senior Equity Energy Trader at Salomon Brothers. Dr. Wong started his first seven years of his career in Equity Trading & Arbitrage at Goldman Sachs.

Dr. Wong graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Tufts University and received his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, in 1987.

Dr. Wong has been an active member of numerous charities including The Robin Hood Foundation and Ronald McDonald House, as well as being on the Board of Trustees of the Tiger Foundation and St. Jude’s Hospital-Wall Street.

Rachel Apfel
Vice President, Marketing & Investor Relations

Prior to joining Constellar, Ms. Apfel was Director of Marketing at the Hickey Freeman Company where she managed all marketing strategy and marketing initiatives for the company. Before Hickey Freeman, Ms. Apfel worked briefly in Investor Relations at Oak Hill Capital Management, a $4.6 billion private equity firm. Ms. Apfel previously managed client relations and marketing at The Advertising Council and at Foote Cone & Belding, a global advertising agency.

Ms. Apfel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors in all subjects, from Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences and she earned a M.B.A., with honors, from Columbia Business School.

Harleen Dhillon
Risk Manager

Prior to joining Constellar, Ms. Dhillon was a quantitative analyst at Bear Measurisk, a leader in independent risk transparency and risk measurement solutions of hedge funds. She focused on analysis and factorization for hedge fund returns and worked on the development and reporting of portfolio risk analytics. Prior to Bear Measurisk, Ms. Dhillon was at PlusFunds Group where she worked on hedge fund reporting.

Ms. Dhillon received her masters of science in computer science and engineering and her bachelor of science in computer engineering from University of New York at Buffalo. She is a member of Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association and is a certified Financial Risk Manager.

Jeffrey Pauker, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining Constellar, Mr. Pauker was a Global Operational Due Diligence Analyst for three years at Olympia Capital Management Inc., an international $4 billion Fund of Funds. Responsibilities included conducting comprehensive on-site interviews with key operational personnel of prospective Hedge Fund investments; the evaluation of the Fund, its Management Company, and service providers; and the review of all relevant documentation. Mr. Pauker started his first five years of his career as an Audit Manager for Ernst & Yong LLP’s Hedge Fund group supervising and conducting Hedge Fund and Fund of Fund audits of various structures and strategies.

Mr. Pauker graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and minors in Economics and Legal Studies.

Mr. Pauker is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York and has passed Level I of the CFA Exam.

David Quiles
Controller

Prior to joining Constellar, Mr. Quiles spent five years with HSBC’s Alternative Fund Services. He began his tenure at HSBC in the Fund of Fund’s Custody Group where his responsibilities included fund custodial services, fund pricing, processing subscriptions and redemptions, wire transfers, and cash management. He was later promoted within HSBC to Senior Fund Accountant, where he calculated net asset values and performed portfolio valuations for numerous hedge funds and fund of funds. Most recently, Mr. Quiles assumed the role of Fund Accountant Supervisor where his responsibilities included training, supervising, and managing a team of six accountants as well as servicing clients.

Mr. Quiles graduated from Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting.

Robert Sachs
Senior Research Analyst

Prior to joining Constellar, Mr. Sachs was Global Head of Industry Relations at Olympia Capital Management, an international $4 billion Fund of Funds. He conducted due diligence on all strategies on a global basis. Prior to Olympia, Mr. Sachs was Vice President of Prime Brokerage Sales at Credit Suisse where he acted as conduit to hedge funds for the firm. Before joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Sachs worked for Bookbinder Capital, a fund of funds where he actively reviewed hedge fund allocations and facilitated contact with high net worth individuals and institutions. Before joining Bookbinder, Mr. Sachs worked for Bear Stearns in New York where he marketed hedge fund services to new clients and was responsible for client P&L analysis and portfolio management. Mr. Sachs started his career with Lehman Brothers in Prime Broker Services.

Mr. Sachs graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Pace University.

Roslyn Zhang, CFA
Research Analyst

Prior to joining Constellar, Ms. Zhang was the assistant director of investments at Spider Management Company, manager of University of Richmond’s $1.7 billion endowment fund. She formulated Asian investment strategies and developed the Asian portfolio including private equity and hedge funds. Before Spider Management, Ms. Zhang was director of portfolio research and analysis at University of Toronto’s $5.5 billion endowment fund (UTAM) where her responsibilities included sourcing and analysis of hedge fund managers, risk/quantitative analysis and portfolio construction. Prior to UTAM, Ms. Zhang spent five years at Manulife Financial Corporation in market risk management. Ms. Zhang earned a bachelor of economy from Central University of Finance and Economy in Beijing and earned a M.B.A. from McGill University. Ms. Zhang has attained the CFA designation.
